Conibear, M.D., MPH, FACP, CIME
Occupational Medicine and
Family Practice
Dr. Conibear (President of
Carnow, Conibear & Assoc., Ltd.) holds a Masters of Public Health
degree from the University of Illinois School of Public Health and M.D.
from the University of Illinois Medical School. She is board certified
in Occupational Medicine and board eligible in Family Practice.
Pursuing her interest in occupational
and preventive medicine has involved Dr. Conibear in research, medical
education and private consulting.
Her research work includes
epidemiologic studies of the health effects of exposure to toxic agents
in the work place including major study of aluminum smelter workers. She
has directed eight Health hazard Evaluations of industrial facilities
for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. She has
carried out morbidity studies examining how material such as fluoride,
lead, arsenic, organic solvents and ionizing radiation affect human health.
Her published bibliography
includes more than twenty articles in leading scientific journals and
book chapter. Dr. Conibear was on the faculty of the University of Illinois
College of Medicine for ten years. She also had an appointment in the
Department of Environment and Occupational Health Sciences at the University
of Illinois School of Public Health.
Dr. Conibear is a certified
Medical Review Officer and a board certified Independent Medical Examiner.
