Stuart R. Kortebein
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Stuart Kortebein received
his medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago in 1957. Dr. Kortebein
interned at Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio and served as a medical
doctor in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1960. He did his residencies,
including his residency in orthopedic surgery, from 1960 to 1964 at Hines
Veterans Administration Hospital, Akron General Hospital, Elyria Memorial
Hospital, and Northwestern University Medical School.
Dr. Kortebein has had a general
orthopedic practice throughout his career. Although he has not done major
surgery since approximately 1994, he has continued to perform minor surgeries
since then. He practiced in Arlington Heights, Illinois, from 1964 to
1983. Dr. Kortebein has worked for the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled
Children in Chicago, for Humana Med First Illinois, for various Naval
hospitals, and for Northern Chicago Veterans Administration Hospital in
Chicago. He has worked for the Occupational Medical Clinics of America,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as a staff orthopedic surgeon from 1988 to the present.
Dr. Kortebein has hospital privileges at Sinai Samaritan Medical Center
in Milwaukee. He has been or currently is a member of numerous professional
organizations, including the Milwaukee Orthopedic Society, the Wisconsin
Orthopedic Society, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr.
Kortebein is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He is licensed in
Illinois and Wisconsin. He has done disability evaluations for the Veterans
Administration, and has performed independent medical evaluations since
approximately 1994.
Dr. Kortebein evaluates both
Wisconsin and Illinois workers compensation and personal injury cases
in Wheeling and Vernon Hills, Illinois.
