Michel Hanna
Malek
Neurosurgeon
Dr. Malek obtained his B.S.
degree in 1981 from the American University of Beirut. He then completed
his M.D. at the American University of Beirut School of Medicine in 1985.
Dr. Malek did both a General
Surgery Internship and Residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University.
He then completed his Residency in Neurological Surgery at Northwestern
University. During his residency, he was appointed Chief Resident at the
Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Children's Memorial Hospital, both
of which are in Chicago.
In 1992, Dr. Malek completed
his formal training by participating in an Advanced Spine Surgery Fellowship
through the Cleveland Spine and Arthritis Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
From July of 1992 through August
of 1996, Dr. Malek was employed by the Great Plains Neurosurgery and Spine
Associates in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
In 1996, Dr. Malek relocated
to Illinois and set up a practice in Kankakee and Joliet. His current
hospital appointments include Provena St Mary's Hospital and the Riverside
Medical Center in Kankakee as well as the Provena St. Joseph's Medical
Center in Joliet.
Dr. Malek is board certified
by the American board of Neurological Surgery and by the American Board
of Independent Medical Examiners.
Dr. Malek is available to do
Independent Medical Evaluation and Independent File Reviews. He can do
Independent Medical Evaluations at his office in Kankakee or Joliet, IL.
