Raymond J.
Meyer, M.D.
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr Meyer received his Bachelor
of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1987, and his doctor
of medicine degree from Stritch School of Medicine in 1991.
From 1991 - 1996, he did his
residency in orthopaedic surgery at Northwestern University Medical School.
He then spent a year at the Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center in a sports
medicine fellowship, during which time he assisted as a team physician
for the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Currently, Dr. Meyer, who is
a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, is affiliated with the Rezin Orthopedic
Centers, S.C. He currently sees patients at the Rezin Clinics in Joliet,
Morris, and Ottawa.
In addition to his skill as
a general orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Meyer possesses extensive knowledge
and has done related research in shoulder reconstruction, which includes;
"Clinical Presentation and Surgical Treatment of Supraglenoid Cysts
of the Shoulder", "The Relationship between SLAP Lesions and
Supraglenoid Cysts: An MRI Evaluation", "Arthroscopic Shoulder
Stabilization - An Overview", Orthopaedic Manifestations of Marfan
Syndrome, "Comparison of Modular Augmentation Methods for Deficient
Bone Stock in Tibial Component Fixation", and "Effects of Exercise
in Type I and II Diabetes".
Dr. Meyer's professional society
affiliations include American Medical Association, American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Illinois
State Medical Society, and the Will & Grundy County Medical Society.
During his off-work hours,
Dr. Meyer is the team physician for the Joliet Catholic Academy.
