Albert Mitsos,
M.D.
General Surgery
Forensic Medicine
Dr. Mitsos received an undergraduate
degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University in 1974. He received
his medical degree in 1977 from the Chicago Medical School
Following graduation from medical
school, Dr. Mitsos did a residency in General Surgery at Cook County Hospital
in Chicago.
Dr. Mitsos currently holds
a license to practice medicine in Illinois and is also Board Certified
in Forensic Traumatology. His professional associations and memberships
include the American Board of Forensic Medicine, the American Board of
Forensic Examiners, and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
Since 1982, Dr. Mitsos has
done peer reviews for worker's compensation cases as well as auto and
general liability claims.
Since 1989, he has worked as
a consultant to self-administered corporations.
Since 1992, Dr. Mitsos has
done Medical Peer Reviews and has served as a consultant for corporations
of Texas Nonsubscriber programs.
Dr. Mitsos' published work
includes an article on "Finding Pathways to Savings in Worker's Compensation"
- Managing Employee Health Benefits, Vol 4, Issue 3, Spring 1996,
and he has also published commentary to articles concerning managed care
in the worker's compensation market - Guides to Managed Care 1999.
